Please join us as we "Follow the Impact" with Big Car Collaborative, the 2014 and 2017 residual grant winner with the Arts, Culture and Preservation Focus Area Committee. Our guest speakers will be Shauta Marsh, Co-Founder and Director of Programming, and Dr. Jarrod Dortch, a Professor of Communication at Ivy Tech Community College, Solful Gardens Owner and Operator. He is a Big Car Co-Founder, Dir. of Programs and Exhibitions, Artist, Community Gardner, and Listen Hear talent. Dr. Dortch is pleased to share how the Impact 100 residual grant helped transform his home as part of the APLR Program (Artist and Public Life Residency Program. Big Car is a non-profit art and design organization, working to boost livability from an engagement-based arts perspective. Their mission statement: We bring art to people and people to art, sparking creativity in lives to support communities. They will continue to provide affordable housing for artists in Garfield Park, and bring cultural content to the airwaves with their non-commercial broadcast radio station, WQRT 99.1 FM, as well as many other programs. We are excited to hear about their current programs and their services since 2017, including the addition of WQRT Radio/ListenHear, Tube Factory Culture, Community and Creativity Space , and changes due to Covid-19. We will share their wish list, and volunteer opportunities that may be available later this year.
